interesting stats about leucht.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Computer nerds and statistics nerds unite! \u00a0Here are some interesting stats and facts about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">my website<\/a>, courtesy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/analytics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google Analytics<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>After nearly\u00a0<strong>6 years<\/strong> of collecting site visitor data (<strong>68 months<\/strong>, actually), there were nearly <strong>80,500 site visitors<\/strong>. \u00a0These are not page hits &#8230; these are unique visits to the site, each of which may include multiple page views. \u00a0There are actually an average of <strong>1.94 page views per visit<\/strong>. \u00a0(The site has been around since 1999, but I didn&#8217;t hook up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/analytics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Google Analytics<\/a> till late in 2007.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>That&#8217;s about <strong>1,200 site visitors per month<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>or about <strong>300 per week<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>or about <strong>40 per day<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/website-visitors.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1321\" alt=\"website visitors\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/website-visitors-400x228.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"228\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">leucht.com<\/a> is just a little unassuming no-frills family website, so I wouldn&#8217;t expect much more daily traffic than this. \u00a0And most of this traffic is probably just search engines crawling the site. \u00a0You can see by the 6 year data plots above that the traffic is pretty stable over that 6 year period. \u00a0It&#8217;s not growing significantly and it&#8217;s not falling significantly over the long term.<\/p>\n<p>So which portions of this little family website have been the most popular over these 6 years? site? \u00a0 More than <strong>85 percent<\/strong> of my traffic comes from web searches like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">google<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">yahoo<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">bing<\/a>. \u00a0 So it looks like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/kurt\/shed\/\" target=\"_blank\">my yard shed page<\/a> is scoring high enough on those search engines to get people to click on it. \u00a0Surprising, I know. \u00a0This sort of do it yourself content is exactly what I had hoped this website would be good for when I envisioned it way back in 1999. \u00a0So I am really stoked to see that page at the top of the list.<\/p>\n<p>I just performed a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=dr+seuss+room\" target=\"_blank\">google search for the phrase &#8220;dr seuss room&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/seuss\/\" target=\"_blank\">my Dr Seuss room page<\/a> was at the top of page 9 which makes it the 81st google result, I believe. \u00a0So my Seuss Room page ranks among the top 100 Seuss Room pages in the entire google-verse! \u00a0That&#8217;s fairly exciting for a small time family website developer like me!<\/p>\n<p>As for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/blog\/2007\/01\/photo-chop-contest-submittal-woot-contest-98-when-titans-woot\/\" target=\"_blank\">Superman comic book cover photo-chop page<\/a>, I&#8217;m assuming that those people are really looking for Superman comic books or something and are probably sadly disappointed when they click over to my photo-chop contest page.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, nearly half of my top pages are personal photo albums and archives from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cocoavillageplayhouse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cocoa Village Playhouse<\/a> musicals that I&#8217;ve been in. \u00a0I&#8217;m guessing that just a few of my CVP friends are looking at those, but the rest are probably people who are looking for the broadway musicals or productions in their own towns or something. \u00a0Sorry, folks.<\/p>\n<p>One more dataset and then I&#8217;ll end this. \u00a0The table above shows the top 10 \u00a0pages of all time over the total 6 year period. \u00a0But I have post about my folding workbench<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leucht.com\/blog\/2007\/02\/replacement-of-window-sill-on-block-exterior-wall\/\" target=\"_blank\">blog post about how to replace a windowsill on a concrete block wall<\/a>. \u00a0I&#8217;m happy to see both of these posts in the top 10 and it will be exciting to see other similar do-it-yourself posts rise to the top over
