9th Episode: "Reggie's Wild Ride"

Reggie’s dreams come true as he launches into outer space, but his first Shuttle ride heads on a course for disaster.

After eight years of training and being overlooked for space missions, the day that Reggie Warren has dreamed of since he was a boy finally arrives. Blasting off on a routine construction EVA and research mission, Reggie is on top of the world literally.

Floating above the earth aboard the orbiter along with Reggie are Japanese Astronaut Hiro Furukawa, veteran astronaut and Mission Commander Elden Hayes and Payload Specialist Dr. Jeffrey Masters, who were sent to conduct a $30 million chemical experiment in outer space.

Whie Reggie and Hiro are outside of the orbiter during a lengthy EVA, back in the mid-deck, Dr. Masters and Hays begin to behave erratically, mysteriously losing their faculties. With glazed eyes and beads of sweat dotting their confused expressions, Dr. Masters and Hayes inexplicably put themselves, the other astronauts and the safety of the mission in jeopardy. The realization of Reggie’s lifelong dream becomes a harrowing nightmare as he battles for his life and that of the crew.

Meanwhile, D.B. finds a perfect match in Dr. Suzanne Cassell, the scientist supervising the earth-bound part of Dr. Masters’ outer space experiment.
