I laid out all the cabinets in the garage in the same order that they would be installed in the kitchen.

I used this little rig to hold the old cabinets during removal and also hold the new cabinet in place for installation. Using this rig, I was able to remove and install all my kitchen cabinets myself without any outside help.
One cabinet done, lots and lots left to go!
Another set of cabinets hung. I screwed the faces of the multiple cabinets together in the garage, then carried them in together and mounted them to the wall as one solid unit. If you try to mount them onto the wall one piece at a time, the visible faces and edges will likely not match up perfectly.
This is the last set of wall cabinets after being hung. Mounting this as one complete unit was not as easy since it was such a large unit. But the mounting rig I showed above made it do-able.

A surprise bonus of this project was that I got a bunch of gently used cabinets for additional storage in my garage!

Time to mount the floor cabinets. This picture shows how I mounted the free-standing bar cabinets to the concrete floor so that they would be stable. I mounted 2 by 4's to the concrete slab floor with large concrete anchors, then I screwed the cabinets securely to the 2 by 4's. These free-standing cabinets are solid as a rock!
Bar cabinets installed.
A different angle of the new breakfast bar cabinets.
The sink cabinets are all in place and the old countertop with sink is temporarily put back in place.
The countertops are solid surface and had to be installed by the contractor in order for the warranty to be valid.
We splurged and added the built-in solid surface sink. We absolutely love it!
I also installed wood floor planks myself. This was a lot of work! Especially since I laid them at a 45 degree angle to the walls! If I had the chance to do it over again, I would probably hire a professional installer.
It was a lot of work, but the final wood floors look great!
